We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Camila Hargett. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Camila below.

Camila, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

Naming a business is one of the most personal and challenging parts of starting out. When I launched our company, I named it Intel Consulting LLC because I felt it captured what we stood for—intelligence, innovation, and insight, which are the cornerstones of our work. At the time, I was confident it was the perfect name and never imagined it would catch the attention of such a global powerhouse like Intel Corporation. After all, I wasn’t in tech; I was in business consulting, a completely different space.

When their legal team reached out, I was genuinely taken aback. I had chosen the name in good faith, believing it reflected my vision, and I even had grounds to make a case since there were no conflicts in the trademark class for business consulting services. But I also understood their perspective—big corporations have to defend their trademarks broadly to protect their rights.

It was a difficult decision, but I ultimately chose to abandon the trademark application and rebrand. I realized that clinging to the name wasn’t worth the distraction from my true focus: helping my clients grow and thrive. The process taught me an important lesson about flexibility and resilience. Rebranding became an opportunity to dig even deeper into my business’s identity and come up with a name that reflects not only what we do but also the heart of who we are.

Looking back, I’m proud of how I handled the situation. I meant well, and I never set out to create any confusion or conflict. The experience reminded me that even unexpected challenges can lead to growth and new opportunities. Now, with a name that feels uniquely ours, I’m even more excited about the future. We are now operating as Sezhel Consulting (Registered as Sezhel LLC), a name inspired by the Hebrew word “sechel,” which signifies intelligence, wisdom, and common sense. This change reflects our core values and our commitment to delivering thoughtful, strategic solutions to our clients.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’m so excited to share my story! I’m the founder of Sezhel Consulting, where our mission is to empower businesses, particularly minority-owned ones, to grow sustainably and thrive. My journey into this industry was deeply personal. I come from a multicultural background, born in Chile and later moving to the United States, and I’ve always been inspired by stories of resilience and entrepreneurship. Watching people build something from the ground up, often against incredible odds, gave me a passion for supporting business owners in reaching their goals.

With an MBA and a strong focus on analytics, I started Sezhel Consulting to combine data-driven insights with strategic expertise. We specialize in business intelligence and analytics, helping our clients make informed decisions that lead to real results. Our services range from financial analysis to compliance, operations, and long-term strategy. What sets us apart is our commitment to delivering tailored solutions that are not just theoretical but actionable—grounded in data and built for success.

At Sezhel, we solve problems that many business owners face but don’t always know how to tackle, like improving profitability, ensuring compliance, or creating sustainable growth strategies. Beyond the numbers, we help our clients feel empowered to run their businesses with clarity and confidence. One of the unique offerings we provide is helping businesses identify and seize opportunities they may not have considered before, whether it’s optimizing their operations or entering a new market.

I think what truly sets Sezhel Consulting apart is our dedication to building strong, authentic relationships with our clients. I like to say we’re not just consultants—we’re partners in success. We understand that every business is different, and we take the time to understand each client’s vision, values, and goals.

I’m incredibly proud of the impact we’ve had so far. Since opening our doors, we’ve helped over 50 businesses—many of them minority-owned—navigate complex challenges and unlock new opportunities. It’s not just about numbers for me; it’s about seeing these business owners succeed, grow their communities, and create legacies.

What I want people to know about Sezhel Consulting is that we’re here to make a real difference. Whether you’re a seasoned business owner or just starting out, we’re here to provide guidance, strategies, and tools that drive measurable results. It’s not just about solving problems—it’s about empowering our clients to dream bigger and achieve more than they thought possible.

If you’re looking for a partner who’s as passionate about your success as you are, that’s where we come in. At Sezhel Consulting, your goals are our goals, and we’re excited to help you get there.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

One of the most pivotal moments in my career occurred in the early stages of building my business. Confident that the first name I chose perfectly represented my brand’s essence, I began the process of trademarking it. However, the name unexpectedly drew the attention of Intel Corporation—a global giant I had never considered when making my selection. I could never have imagined that my small business would land on the radar of such a renowned company.

It was a challenging moment. I believed in my vision for the name and had poured my heart into building something meaningful. But after a lot of reflection, I decided to pivot and rebrand. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I saw it as an opportunity to refocus and redefine what my business stood for.

That’s when Sezhel Consulting was born. The name was chosen with intention—it’s distinctive, reflects my personal and professional journey, and embodies the innovative, personalized approach we bring to our clients. Rebranding was an opportunity to craft a new narrative that felt authentically mine, while ensuring the trademark process was smooth and free of future challenges.

This experience taught me so much about resilience and adaptability. It reminded me that pivots, while challenging, often lead to growth and new opportunities. What could have been a setback turned into a launchpad for a brand that feels even more aligned with who I am and the impact I want to make.

For anyone facing a similar moment of uncertainty, I’d say this: embrace the pivot. It’s not the end of the road—it’s a chance to find a better path.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

The word-of-mouth success we’ve experienced has been humbling and affirming. Ultimately, I believe our reputation is built on the consistent excellence of our work and the genuine care we have for our clients’ success.
